Green Tea Pound Cake

Pertama kali liat foto green tea cake-nya Elsye langsung ngiler banget pengen nyobain gimana rasanya.

French macaroon-nya sih gagal hehe.. mangkanya belom update ceritanya, tapi meskipun gagal rasanya asik banget deh.

Green tea pound cake

Green Tea Pound Cake
makes one 9x5 loaf or two mini loaves
recipe from Fountain of Life Green Tea Company
source : http://milkandhoneycafe.blogspot.com/2009/07/its-not-easy-being-sweet.html

Ingredients
2 cups bleached all-purpose four
2 tablespoons Matcha green tea
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 sticks soft unsalted butter
2 cups confectioners' sugar
5 large eggs, separated
Pinch of salt

Green tea cake

Directions
1. Butter a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan and line with buttered parchment or wax paper—cut to fit. Set a rack in the middle level of the oven and preheat to 325F. Combine the flour, green tea and baking powder and stir well to mix.
2. Cream butter and confectioners sugar in bowl of mixer with paddle attachment and beat for about 3 minutes or until light. Beat in the egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping bowl and beater occasionally with a rubber spatula. Remove the bowl from the mixer and fold in the flour mixture by hand, with a rubber spatula.

3. Pour the egg whites and salt into a clean, dry mixer bowl. Place on mixer with whisk attachment and whip whites on medium speed until white and opaque and just beginning to hold their shape. Increase speed slightly and continue whipping egg whites until they hold a soft peak.
4. Remove bowl from mixer and quickly scrape whites from bowl onto batter in other bowl. Use a large rubber spatula to fold the egg whites into the batter, folding just until no streaks of white remain.
5. Scrape the batter into prepared pans and smooth the top. Bake the cakes for about 45 minutes (35-40 minutes for mini loaf pans) or until it is well risen and a toothpick inserted in the center emerges dry. Cool the cakes in the pans on a rack for 10 minutes, then un-mold and cool it completely.

Kuenya emang enaaak... moist banget deh, harumnya green tea juga doyan deh. Yang penting neng Salma sama papahnya juga doyan. Sampe motong lagi motong lagi. Tadinya mau diabisin sama kita bertiga, tapi keinget udah lama nih ngga ngirim2 tetangga hehehe.. jadi 1 loyang meluncur ke rumah sebelah. Mudah2an tetangga kami itu doyan :)

Green tea cupcake

Di milis NCC  dan Natural Cooking "Food Photography" Club sedang rame oleh event food photography "In Love with Food". Jadi saya mau setor foto ini aja deh, udah lama banget ngga aktif lagi acara2 dunia maya. Masih (selalu) belum puas dengan hasil fotonya. Entahlah apa yang kurang. Ada yang mau memberi masukan dan kritikannya ?

mb maaf nanya lg...hehehe... 2 cups terigunya 2 x 140gr=280 gr betul? 2 cups gula pasir 2x225gr=450gr? ga manis bgt mb? bingung konversinya...2 sticks soft unsalted butter tu seberapa?huhuhuuuu maaf ya mb ngerepotin

@ nd1 : (btw, namanya siapa nih?)
soriiii... baru bales lagi nih.
untuk konversi bahan memang beda2 tiap negara, dari catetan sy dan cup yang saya punya, setelah ditimbang jadinya :

2 cups terigu = 2 x 125gr = 250gr
2 cups gula = 2 x 200gr = 400gr
2 stiks mentega = 2 x 100gr = 200gr

menurut sy sih manisnya pas, tapi tergantung selera juga. cobain dulu aja yaa.. atau bikinnya sedikit dulu. Kalau kemanisan tinggal dikurangin gulanya :D

I just wanted to bring this post to your attention: http://ohchocolat.wordpress.com/2013/08/31/cake-au-the-matcha-et-noisette/
This person has been using your photo, I'm pretty sure, without your consent, and even had the nerve to add their own watermark to it.
I think we work hard enough at what we do, the last thing we need is people stealing our stuff.
I trust that you will want to have that removed...

Have yourself a good day!
